Week 8 Progress

1. Looking back
I am happy with my progress so far, especially with my storybook. It has been fun reading about Beowulf and then taking those stories and making them my own. Being able to strengthen my creativity skills has been a great experience so far. I feel like I can really be detailed with my writing. I am most proud of my storybook. With each story that I recreate I feel very confident in my writing skills.

I think my favorite class assignments are the story labs. These are a kind of break but are also a great tool for learning how to be a better writer. All the little videos are very helpful and I enjoy watching them. I have used the extra credit options a couple of times when I fall behind. Those options are incredibly helpful to relieve stress. Being able to have a little buffer is a great option. However, with all of my homework I have not been able to work ahead.
Developing my blog and storybook have gone very well. This week has been great for sharpening the look of those. I feel like I was able to organize them a bit more this week.

2. Looking forward
I would like to work on being more creative with my writing in the second half of the semester. I want to be better at taking notes for the readings. If I can, I would like to take time during the week to do extra credit. Because this is my last semester I would love to be able to finish early.

    Hey there! I love that you have enjoyed bringing out your creative side, and that is exactly how I feel too! I have been used to very scripted and structured writing, and this class has helped me break free from the common structures of writing and take things into my own hands. I have enjoyed seeing where my writing can take me and the imaginative things it can come up with!

Week 7 Story: Grotto of Lust

Author's note: This story was originally told as the Grotto of Love. In this story was a man that became bored and resorted to other pleasures. These pleasures were among the sea with a siren. I will keep with the same story but change the ending and the character names and a few traits. Grotto of Lust Leorio, as with many who are given too much in life, was dissatisfied. Leorio had the most beautiful and loyal wife, Setsu, but he tired of her constant presence. In his boredom he began to think of a siren he once saw, but could not catch. She had a voice that could make tears prick your eyes and a beauty that surpassed anyone Leorio had ever set his eyes upon. He sat and thought about the way she sang and played her lute effortlessly. It all became a dizzying daydream and he could not bare the thoughts any longer. He left his wife without a thought and made his way to the emerald sea where she lived.  Once his feet sunk into the sand and he breathed in the salty air he b
